Concept in dwelling
Abstract
The multiple current debates in society become vitiated, among other things, due to lack of clarity in the concepts. Since determining the very meaning of concept is difficult when, considered only in the individual mind, it appears ambiguous as is equated with different terms: mental representation, idea, thought, intellection, etc. Faced with such subjectivism and imprecision, this essay proposes to update the description of the concept considering its history but including recent paradigms from cognitive sciences. The proposal concludes thus summarized: concept is the event experienced, conceived, and expressed in the world. Thus, it proposes a perspective on how to clarify concepts in general starting with clarifying the concept itself.
