Elements for the constitution of an intercultural subject in a neoliberal order

Abstract

The main objective of this paper is to propose an intercultural subject model that functions as a contrast to the contemporary neoliberal subject. In order to do so, three specific topics are explained: 1) the concept of interculturality which León Olivé developed is used to postulate and elaborate an intercultural subject model; 2) the characteristics of a neoliberal social order that constitutes a specific kind of subject in conjunction with the way of such an order prevents the development of an intercultural one; 3) finally, the elements of an intercultural subject are addressed including the mention of the instruments that would allow its constitution.
